A Word from Pastor Steve

A Word from Pastor Steve

We call them our "comfort zones".  God has been wanting to guide me into a place of fearless love, where my "comfort zones" can not just be expanded, but eliminated.  Loving all and any that God places in my path.  I have discovered that I have more religious boundaries than I realized.  That is a very painful revelation.  We all have more religion than we want or choose to believe.  I have been thinking about Matthew the tax collector in Matthew chapter 9.  He was a corrupt man, full of greed, uncaring about the needs of others.  One day he answered the call of Christ, he walked away from his corruption, left everything so his life would change.  He even arranged for his friends to see their lives changed.  Yet, it did not satisfy the religious people.  That's the problem with religion, it keeps moving the finish line.  Having a fearless love, what God has been putting in my heart, was born months ago during a Wednesday evening service.  As I worshipped the Lord with singing He spoke into my spirit about love, compassion, about how we do put the law ahead of suffering.  He moved me to see love so differently, having a love without fear of what others may think.  To love without the constraints of religion (comfort zones).  I certainly do not have all of this nailed down yet, but my eyes have been opened wider to see how much we let religion decide for us instead of the love of Jesus.  We do let religion decide way too much.  God, please help us repent.  Let the love of God in Jesus take the place of the limits of religion.
